Boat Trips around TirNaNog

There are several options from around TirNaNog if you want to indulge into a boat experience with or without a skipper depending on which part of the island you wish to visit, here is a short list of the locations we recommend:

  • Castelsardo harbour, which is at 3 min drive from TirNaNog. If you have an interest in diving excursions and underwater explorations, you can also find a diving centre at the harbour. You can also find a supermarket open 7days a week, a great spot before a boat trip or just want to replenish your provisions. For a drink after your trip, we recommend to stop at the harbour sailors’ pub and a fish shop calle Casa Del pesce in Castelsardo right out of the harbour with a selection of local fish and catches of the day from the fishermen. The boats that sail from Castelsardo would normally go towards east where there are amazing spots where some parts are only accessible by boat such as in Isola Rossa or Costa Paradiso. Some boat rental offers can be found at the following sites:

  • If Castelsardo does not offer you what you are looking for, you may want to explore the stunning Asinara Island (Isola dell’Asinara). This idyllic island is a national park since 1997 and now a nature reserve. The island is practically uninhabitated and used to be a top security prison for Mafia bosses, basically the Alcatraz of Italy up until the 90s. Due to its unspoiled natural beauty unspoiled by permanent human settlement, in 1997 Asinara was established as a national park and is now a nature reserve. A boat tour to Asinara can be organised from the town of Porto Torres or from Stintino village. Here is a few choices:
